Throughout the chapter I realize many of the benefits of using more technology within the classroom. By letting student have the technology they are learning more (hands-on), it's easy to plan for class and create tests, there are many other benefits. Unfortunately, I wonder how under priviledged schools will be able to afford good computers and new technology to fill the schools. I'm look forward to my classroom and applying the new tricks that I've already learned within this class.
Although I have used SAM software before. The practice test for our last skill check seemed to be MUCH longer than last time. This practice test taught me a lot of informtion about the program that I had not retained the first time I used SAM. Each time I go through a program I am amazed at how much you can do with it. I wish that I knew the full use of every program. But even just learning more than I knew has already proven to be beneficial.
NO! I have to take that General Knowledge Test this weekend! Which is also the weekend of formal which I can no longer go to and have already paid......that sucks! I'm really nervous about the test because I'm not really sure what exactly will be on it or how long it will take. Rumor has it that spelling is on there...well then I'm done for!

John M. Keller noticed the lack of verve in young students. Most students are simply learning enough to pass the test. This is a way of learning that I can relate to. Until this year, I was a student who was just learning to pass. While in Hospitality, I knew that the majority of what I needed to know would be from hands on experience. Therefore, I was only in school to get my degree and did not care about learning. I didn't really retain much knowledge from my classes until this year. The education departments enthusiasm has again taught me the joys of learning. When I become a teacher I too hope to instill the joy of learning into the hearts of my students. I will do this by using ARCS motivational model.
Since my last post I have refreshed my memory on how to use the SAM software. Luckily, since I already used this software I didn't have to install it in my computer (it's already there!).
My step-niece came into town this past weekend for the holiday! I revisited the Museum of Natural History and science...long, dumb name. Formerly known as the Junior Museum. I had a wonderful weekend spent with family and hope that everyone traveled safely and had a blast!!

We have grown up in a technologically advanced society which has provided tons of prior experience with computers. In elementry school, our generation played computer games, such as Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego or Oregon Trail (where many students forged the river). As far as hands-on experience with SAM software, yes. I have already passed the SAM program with a business class. Don't worry guys, it's easy!

Since I am familiar with the SAM program, I hope to learn how to apply what I already know within the teaching field. I'm excited to learn how Excel, Powerpoint, and Word are all going to help me down the road when I become a teacher.

Hmmm....anything I want to share with the class? Well, I like long walks on the beach, reading during a rain storm--sike! To remain on the surface (and not become personal with unneccessary talk of religion and politics) I will admit that when I cannot spell a word that I resort to an easier word that I know how to spell. My favorite comedian is Demetri Martin (look him up...you'll love him!). Oh and, I'm a Christian and republican ; )
